All they do is lob! This is perhaps the biggest source of frustration in women’s doubles. Yet, for every tactic there is an adjustment you can make to neutralize it. Here is the first of several tips that will give you the tools you need to take down the lob queens…Positioning
Play 2 back on serve and return games. By taking away the net player you change the opponents target. They may still lob (with no one at the net) but from this formation it will be easier for you to select your shot. It’s hard to attack the lob when moving backwards, and there if often confusion between the net/baseline players. This way you can move forward to hit a groundy, swing volley, or bounce overhead.
